Will SearchGPT replace Google?
News
Apple has delayed the release of Apple Intelligence. This is most likely over stability issues with the new tool.
Google is thriving in the era of AI. As new tools from Anthropic, Meta, and OpenAI continue this could change. As it stands now though there has not been a significant drop in Google search traffic.
Maybe SearchGPT will dethrone Google as the search king? See more in my opinion below.

AI models collapse when recursively trained on synthetic data. When using AI created data to train an AI model defects are then cooked into the model. These defects are not replaceable. Once trained on poor data a model cannot be untrained.
Both the predictive power and the memory storage capability of an artificial neural network called a reservoir computer increase when time delays are added into how the network processes signals.
Tools

Coze, platform for building chatbots using LLMs.

SearchGPT form OpenAI, does it replace search and is SEO dead?
Dsigned to give you an answer?
That is the tagline on the SearchGPT homepage. It directly addresses a current issue with the Google seach engine. With increasing use of AI to write content in a one-button-push-way many site owners created vast amounts of content quickly in attempts to game the system. Most of this content was consider of low value and there for the most part was de-indexed by Google with its most recent update.
But does SearchGPT give you better results? We don’t know yet. I signed up for the Waitlist and I am waiting just as almost everyone else is. Once I get access I can test and findout if OpenAI’s SearchGPT actually does give you better results.
I have used Perplexity.ai for well over a year now. What I find with Perpleity.ai is that it gives me the top search results for a given keyword. It searches the internet and returns the top results in SERPs. Perplexity is very useful for readinng through a page and giving me the information I need from it fast. This is why I quit using Anyword.io as it did the same thing. Except Anyword cost me an additional $5/month.
Though Perplexity.ai has come under serius scrutiny over the way it gathers data. SearchGPT has made every effort to include publishers in the process.
“SearchGPT has prioritized creating strong partnerships with news organizations to ensure the quality and reliability of the information it provides. By collaborating with reputable publishers like The Atlantic, News Corp, and The Associated Press, OpenAI ensures that users receive accurate and trustworthy search results.
These partnerships also grant publishers more control over how their content is displayed in search results. Publishers can decide to opt out of having their material used for training OpenAI’s AI models while still being prominently featured in search outcomes. This approach aims to protect the integrity and provenance of original content, making it a win-win for both users and content creators.”
Since Perplexity which is what OpenAI may be hoping to replace returns SERPs it might make sense that SearchGPT will do the same. Where does SearchGPT gather its information? From the internet and from Google search results and so on. SearchGPT will likely be more convenient to use than Google, but that also assumes Google will not be making any improvemnts for a while.
Keep in mind when the search game started there were many companies doing what Google is not. Alta Vista, Lycos and others are not long gone, because Google did it better. I would not bet against them.
